I believe COMPLETELY in this support, please let me know if there is anything I may help you with that is
not offered here. Payment plans are available. I would rather work something out with you than have you
go without a Doula. My fee for the above services is $1000.
Your insurance company MAY cover the cost of a Doula, please contact them directly.

Birth Plan Preparation - I have a worksheet that
will help you create a birth plan. We will discuss
the risks and benefits of many routine
interventions and help you create a birth plan
that's right for your family.

Support for you and your partner through labor,
birth, and up to 2 hours after delivery (if I am
needed) I will provide physical, informational and
emotional support for both you and your partner
and I can help you with breastfeeding should you
choose this route (I am NOT a certified lactation
specialist, but I was a breastfeeding and pumping
mom for 13 months).

Birth story (upon request) - I create a written
account of your labor and baby's birth which I will
present to you during a postpartum visit.

For no additional charge, I can provide your
friends and family with a picture of your new family
and baby via email. As soon as I return from your
birth, I will send the email to your friends and
family with the addresses you provided.

Birth Videography/Photography - If you like, I will
take pictures of your labor and birth with your
camera or I can use my digital camera and/or
video camera. I charge a small fee for providing
you with a disk. For an edited Video on DVD,
please visit
Moments to Remember.
Unlimited email and phone support - I am available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone and email
from the date of hire. Please do not hesitate to call if
you have ANY questions or just want to update me
on your progress!

2 prenatal visits - These are scheduled for us to
get to know each other better, to create your birth
plan and to see if we are a good fit. You are under
NO OBLIGATION to hire me. We will discuss your
plans for birth and other options and procedures. I
will then put it all on computer, giving you a copy
and bringing a copy to the hospital or birthing center.

Childbirth Class attendance - should your partner
be unable to attend a class with you, I will fill in for
him/her (if I'm available).

Postpartum visits - At our prenatal meetings will
also discuss postpartum visits. Usually, I come to
the hospital the day after your baby is born to visit,
then to your home on an agreed upon day to see
you and baby and answer any questions your new
family may have. This is usually between the
second day at home and 2 weeks after the birth.
Should the day or time need to be changed, please
call or email.

Optimal Fetal Positioning - This class is designed
to help you learn techniques that may help your
baby into the optimal position leading to a shorter,
less painful labor. It is included in the price,
however it is optional.
Coping Techniques - The birth
ball is a great tool for coping with
labor. There are many positions
we can use with the birth ball.

A doula can help remind the
couple about positions that can
help with pain and discomfort
during the mom's particular
phase of labor.

I DO NOT take the place of your partner; rather, I assist BOTH of you through the most
precious and intimate moment of your lifetime.
Labor doulas are becoming more known throughout
the Denver Metro area, but do you really KNOW what a
labor doula is? A labor doula is there to help the
mother cope with labor and birth using physical,
emotional, and informational support. She is also there
to help the mother's partner to take breaks, eat, sleep,
and help the partner use techniques for supporting the
laboring mom; making the birth not only special for
mom, but special for her partner as well. The labor
doula is part of the "birth team" and will provide much
needed encouragement, guidance, and comfort that is
rarely achieved in a hospital without a doula. With
techniques practiced before labor begins and using
those techniques during labor, you may have a shorter
birth, less requests for pain medication, and less
chance for a c-section.
Benefits of having a Doula include:
  • 50% reduction in cesarean section rates
  • 25% shorter labor
  • 40% reduction in forceps deliveries
  • 60% reduction in epidural requests
  • 30% reduction in analgesia use
A Doula can help everyone get involved!
