I entered this journey when I needed a website for my own doula business. I couldn't afford to spend over $500 for someone else to design my site and I certainly didn't have the money for an expensive program so I set out to learn how to do this myself through books and online sources. After designing a few websites, I realized I needed a better program, so I used the money from designing those sites and purchased Dreamweaver. There are many businesses out there that will design a site for you. Many put a cap on the amount of content or pages you can have. I don’t. You can have as many pages and content as you like. You are in charge of the design for your site from the colors, to the font, to the pictures and content. It is your site.

Getting started is easy! Hire me for your web design by sending half the total payment either by mail or using Paypal. Pick your domain name and order your domain and hosting. Many of my clients use Doteasy (around $25/yr for domain name and hosting) and GoDaddy (about $45/yr for domain and hosting). There are other hosts out there, but these are the two most common hosts my clients use. Once you have submitted your deposit, we begin by picking colors and a theme. We can use a template or we can design a site from scratch. I encourage you to check out other sites and tell me what you like from those sites. Do you like the colors? Do you like the layout? Pictures for your site can be your own, your clients (with permission), or you can purchase stock photos online at places like istockphoto.com. Pages are updated as needed. Updates usually take place once a month, but I will make a change should it be detrimental to your business.
